When someone lands on your website, they are asking three silent questions. If the page does not answer them quickly, they leave, often without you ever knowing they came.
Question one: what do you do?
Your main headline should say plainly what you offer. Clever slogans have their place, but clarity wins at the top of the page. If a stranger cannot explain your business after reading your headline, rewrite it.
Question two: is this for me?
Show who you serve. Name your customers, your locations or the problems you solve. Visitors should recognise themselves within seconds.
Question three: what do I do next?
Give one clear next step, such as Shop now, Book a call or Request a quote, and make it easy to find on every screen. Too many choices at once leads to no choice at all.
A website is not a brochure. It is a path from curiosity to action.
Speed and mobile
Most visitors arrive on a phone, often on mobile data. Compress images, remove what you do not need and test every page on a phone before launch. A slow page loses people before they read a word.
Proof you can be trusted
Real client logos, genuine reviews, clear contact details and a professional email address all reassure visitors that a real, established business is behind the page.
A quick test
Show your homepage to someone who does not know your business for five seconds, then ask what you do, who it is for and what they would click. Their answers will tell you exactly what to fix.
